I DO NOT play paintball, but work for a paintball field/store. I went to my first paintball event in December with the misunderstanding that it was just a bunch of drunken guys traveling from all over just to sit around and drink and socialize and occassionally run out on the field and shoot someone with paintballs. I was very wrong. It is a very strategic and thinking game, but it is also very physical. It is very much a workout, especially on a 65 acre field, in all kinds of weather. It's very hard to explain it or understand the game until you actually go to one in person.

Encart describes "sports" as 1. competitive physical activity: an individual or group competitive activity involving physical exertion or skill, governed by rules, and sometimes engaged in professionally (often used in the plural)
2. pastime: an active pastime participated in for pleasure or exercise

So, yes, paintball is definately a sport. Thanks.
