Sadly because of the very small land area that encompasses New York City and high population density, nothing in the city really ever achieves landmark status. It's very rare. |

| A lot of people care, but as part of the agreement to acquire the land the Yankees acquired to build the new stadium, they have to replace the parkland that they are "destroying" to build the stadium. |

I think they shood leave it up kind of like a museum sort of, representing all that happened there, its too glorious of a stadium to be torn down..itd be a great tourist attraction _________________ Dallas Stars-Dallas Cowboys-Texas Rangers-Texas Longhorns |

It doesn't really matter to me. If you leave it standing, someone has to pay for its upkeep. Who is going to pay for it? And with the size of NY City, space probably is at a premium. In the end, this is probably better for everyone involved. _________________ www.chiefswarpath.com |

| It's up to the city whether or not they want to give something landmark status, and the city has supported the new stadium plan all along, mainly because it's mostly privately funded. There isn't any rule or anything like that where if something is around X amount of years it automatically gets landmark status. |
