| I will agree that the Yanks have proven that, for the most part. They do have a solid core that stays year after year. Though I still feel that they do add valuable players to their roster every year which put them over the top. |

Yeah usually you don't sign anyone "big" but a solid player that would be welcome on most teams. Not sure when you acquired Justice but he is a solid player. The one that sticks in my mind, besides Sterling, is Jim Leyritz a few years ago, he was a hero in San Diego and then ended up with the Yanks granted he was originally from there.
And yep, Tino proved to be a good deal, I wonder where he will be next year haha. |

| Just look at your pitching staff. Who needs a home run hitter when you have bought THAT rotation??? |

| Your missing my point. I dont care how you got them, the fact is, you can afford to pay them year after year, and no other team can. BASEBALL NEEDS A SALARY CAP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

i do agree with rick, it doesnt matter how you got them, you can still afford them...
...however someone on tv made a good point, it wouldnt be fair to suddenly place a cap and then the team fall apart. what i think would be nice in addition to the cap, would be that every team would be allowed one or two players that have been with the team for, say, 3+ years, not count against the cap. that would help level the field without punishing the big guns as much. |
