Does anyone else here find it offensive that all these women keep getting "special invitations" to play in the PGA when other guys go through years ( including qualifying schools etc) to have to priviledge..???I like both games but you never see the guys trying to pull in the bucks by playing in the LPGA.....Can you imagine if anyone of the top 50 men tryed to play in the LPGA?????Both games are enjoyable and what these girls are saying to me when they try to play in the PGA is that the competition in the LPGA ( pardon the pun) is really sub-par and maybe its not worth my time watching......There appears to be a double standard here ; we have all female Gyms , all female clubs but God forbid you have a mens leaque - women's groups would be screaming sexism.....

The PGA Tour is the best tour in the world. The best players in the world should be able to play on it, male or not. If Annika and Weisy are good enough then what is the problem. What they are saying when the play on the PGA Tour is not that the LPGA not good, it's that they are just so much better than their competition. The reason to have a women's tour is because physically they can not do the same things men can but if one can then why not let her play with her talent level? It reminds me of little league baseball. Would it be okay for the best 10 year-old to play with the 11 and 12 year-old age group? Yes, because he is good enough. Some women are good enough.

Well keep in mind that special invitations are given to men as well.

This is really a sticky issue because women do have their own league. However, there is no rule in the PGA that says only men can participate, so I think if a female player is good enough and qualified to play, she should be allowed to play. But I think that means that should also go for the LPGA. You can't have one league allow everybody and then have the other shut a group of people out.

Player for player, the PGA Tour is talentwise the best tour in the world. Woman for woman the LPGA Tour is the best Women's tour in the world. (I don't know of any more so it may be the only). You have to take into account the natural differences between men and women (like the closer tees do) to compare them. If you do that then you notice that the best scoring average per round this year is held by a certain Swedish woman. That seems a little better than par to me. There are also about 8-9 teenagers coming up, including Wie and Paula Creamer, who will take the LPGA to another level (assuming Wie doesn't play with the men )

Also, I think you'd be hard pressed to find a man that would play on the LPGA in the first place.

If they were going to play full time on the PGA then they wuld have to qualify and such but they don't. Also, We are not talking about the US open! No woman was invited to play at Pinehurst! This is the John Deere Classic which doesn't even have a good field in the first place because of the huge tourney in Europe right now. If they need to promote the event because of a lack of players that weekend then who cares? Wie is a big draw for a reason.

True, they would have to qualify if they were on the PGA full time. My argument though is that they should be allowed to play. Let me ask this. If a woman was skilled enough and was able to play full time on the PGA do you think she should be allowed to play?

Yes she should , IF she went through qualifying school etc and had proven herself against the men in the PGA....NOT PROVEN HERSLF IN ANOTHER LEAGUE WHERE , AS SOMEONE SO NICELY. PONTED OUT TO ME , THE COMPETITION IS NOT AS FIERCE...As things are with this publicity stunt , there are guys playing in the PGA and busting their behinds who are not getting invited....It just not right people.....It may as eye candy to the tournament but its unfair and makes a joke of any tournament....

It doesn't seem like a pub stunt as much right now because as I'm righting this Michelle is on the cut line. If you can make the cut and 40 other men can't then you played better than them and are good enough for the tourney.
