My Wizards are heading downhill, loosing their last 7 out of 10 games has really hurt them on the Eastern Conference standings as other teams gets better. The even more worrying factor for the Wizards is that Michael Jordan's knee is showing bad signs.
Do you think the Wizards should have made a dramatic trade when they had the chance? Or maybe they will start winning games again? [hopefully] Feedback anyone

| I now see that he still has the stuff. I was incredibly skeptical of his coming back, but he is still a great player! Too bad about his knee though. This might really hurt the Wiz. |

Yeah I know, he is in pain & getting that surgery. The Wiz are definitely in trouble but if the other guys step up & keep their winning attitude & form as they did early in the season, they have a great chance in getting into the play-offs! With the current standings in the East, anyone can get in!
I have no regrets for MJ's comeback, if he retired now I woudn't care, cos he already proved that he can still bring a team from being the worst to a possible play-off contender. Even if the Wiz don't make it, its still irrelevant & it won't take anything away from his greatness & what he brought to the team

Problem with MJ coming back, even though he proved he can still play, is that people will now remember that his career ended (if he doesnt come back) off of a knee injury playing for a team that really isnt his team. If he woulda stayed retired, he woulda gone out on top, playing for the team he played for his whole career.
I just feel the MJ legacy is tainted now. |

I feel ya there & I understand exactly what you mean, but if you were in his shoes in you had an itch to play you probably would have done the same thing.
I mean if that was me & I had an itch to find out if I could still play in the league or simply cos I just wanted to play in the NBA again, especially that I have accomplished almost everything in the league already in the past, the last thing I would care about is to ruin the so called 'MJ Legacy.' I mean , its my life & "Life is short, live it up!" [Gatorade]
I know he has let the media pretty much run his entire career, he is sick of that. As aforementioned I feel ya there but why let the media ruin that last chance of playing for the sake of keeping your reputation, thats just being silly! Well thats what I think!

Ya I agree with that. If he came into play because he had an itch to play then thats cool, although, he shouldnt have retired in the first place.
But when I talk about the MJ legacy I dont mean just the media's perspective on him. Screw the media. Im talking about the perspective that his fams have of him, especially the Bulls fans, the ones that cheered for him back in the late '80s when he first broke into the league, the ones that saw MJ rise their team to basketball immortality. |

Retiring on top, winning your last game of your retirement with a ring & even more special taking that last game winner shot is just too sweet! So I do agree & understand what you are saying. Its an image that you want to remember you hero, but such is life & we make decisions that you just have to live by.
In one of his books, he said something like: "he will walk away from the game of sport that he loves until he believes he can't compete at that level no more." Maybe this is that time, except he isn't walking away because he hasn't got the skill no more but age is taking its toll!
On the other side of the coin, his achievements are pretty hard to forget, so no matter what he is still the King, especially to those Bulls fans, & for people like me
