MJ's "legacy" is not tainted and I am glad he came back so that that moment with the Bulls could not be his last play. That is absolutely worthless if you wish to play more.

I second to that br0tha - I coudn't have said it better myself

This "legacy" talk just gets me a tad riled up.

I just don't see what legacy has to do with love of the game, which is all that really matters to me.

ok...forget the legacy talk then. i didnt mean it as this huge enlightened thought i just feel he let his Chicago fans down....but then again, i dont live in Chicago so I dont know how they feel so just forget the thought all together...

what gets me 'riled up' is the guy plays basketball for so many years, establishes himself as the greatest ever. he retires, plays baseball, quits baseball, goes back to basketball, retires, and then goes back to basketball. give me a break. only MJ would be given this opputunity, no person in any other career on this planet would be accepted back to their job after quiting twice. to me, its not a sports issue.

This is a sports issue though. The reason he can do this is because he has established himself as a superior athlete.

even your typical "superior athlete" wouldnt be given this option. if randy johnson, a very superior pitcher retired he may be given a chance to come back. but if he retired again. thats it, hes done, who cares if he loves the game.

and you forget, sports are a business, basketball is a business. these people get paid to play basketball, they have bosses and have regulations. which means, the nba needs to perform like a business. this is not a sports issue, its a business issue. retirement is not individual only to sports.

This topic is being sidetracked a little, sports issue or business issue, I think what Patrick is merely saying is if he wanted to come back (whether he should or shouldn't be allowed), he shouldn't not comeback for the sake of the media, loosing his rep or fans, or ending his career with a win or vice versa.

Without sounding arrogant, self centered or whatever but, I say screw everyone! You don't play your career for peoples pleasure, you do it for yourself & what makes you happy & thats what basically he is doing. He returned to the game for himself, not for the money, not for the fans, but for himself...

Im not questioning why MJ came back. Although, I do disagree with you statement that he shouldnt have considered his fans, because without them, he couldnt have played pro basketball to begin with. If he wanted to come back for himself, and honestly felt that his fans would not have been hurt by it, then that is great.

It just makes me made that he even has that option, thats all.

Thats rubbish that "MJ couldn't have played PRO basketball without them?" How on earth can he not? I understand having loyal fans that support you all the way does make things a lot better for an NBA player however, there are so many underated NBA players these days & in the past who are making it fine without fans that MJ have.

Your fans is not the one giving you your pay? He was a no-one before he came to the NBA or to NC? So you are basically saying a street kid can't play basketball because he has no parents or home? Hell yeah he can!
