So will Clemens pitch at Shea? If JoeTorre sticks to his current rotation, and providing no games are rained off, Clemens is due to pitch(and more importantly BAT!) at Shea on June 17th. But will Torre let him, or will he fiddle with his rotation so that 'The Rocket' doesn't have to play in the NL park with no DH to protect him?
With inter-league play and more and more 'Subway Series' type games, how long can the Yankees carry on protecting Clemens in this way? Surely the Mets are eventually going to catch up with him and try to avenge him chucking at Piazza (with both bat and ball!) last season. So do you think Clemens is right to not want to face the Mets in their own park, or is he a coward and simply hiding behind Torre? I think if I was Clemens, personally I think I'd bat, keep my head down, and let the Mets get it out of their system once and for all.

wow i forgot about that whole piazza thing...didnt clemens just donate a bunch of money to charity in order to serve his punishment?
and the mets wont retaliate, its so far in the past that it would be ridiculous for them to retaliate...torre should just start him, maybe clemens wont hit anything, but they need his arm in the rotation |

I'm not so sure. Baseball players have long memories, and there's no love lost between the Yankees and Mets. I hope they don't throw at him even if he does play, even though you can be sure some Mets fans will be bawling at Leiter or Rick Reed or whoever to throw one at his head.

It will be big but nothing will happen. Like John Rocker last year at Shea.

Hey!
Are you making fun of Piazza, the greatest hitting catcher of our time?
