I think he wont be able to keep up with some of the stars today. He will not be any match for people like vince carter and allen iverson. Even though jordan is one of the greatest players of all time. I will give him that

I hope I'm wrong because I'm a big Michael Jordan fan but if I had to make a bet even "Father Time" will show its effects on Jordan this year.
And Carter. And Allen Iverson. And Kobe Bryant are going to score over and through Jordan. That's if they match up since Michael Jordan will be playing small forward (so I guess at least we will see him match up quite a bit with Vince Carter) this year, not his previous shooting guard position as before to minimize him having to chase all these small, younger, quicker guards.
Speaking of Kobe Bryant. He must be loving this. One of his idols is Michael Jordan. And Kobe patterns everything he's done on and off the court to M.J. from his off the court work ethic to how he acts off the court and speaks to the press. I bet he can't wait for that first Lakers-Wizards' game where he crosses over Jordan and takes it to the rack.

I always thought the Doug Collins hiring was interesting to me because him and Jordan did not get along when they were in Chicago. Because Doug's the kind of coach when things are going good, it's because of the coaching staff and when they're going bad it's because of the players. He wears players down with his screaming style where eventually they tune him out and Collins himself wears down mentally. He was like that in Chicago back in the late 1980's and I don't think he's really changed because he was the same way when he was the Head Coach of the Detroit Pistons and that was only a couple of years ago.
So that's going to be another interesting thing for me to watch at least. |

Yeah I agree & disagree with u spike I think 1 of the main reason why MJ hired Doug Collins is because MJ knows that Collins realizes what he is trying 2 do with the Wizards. Even though there are differences between him & MJ, he sees MJ's vision whereas if another coach was brought in, they would have to start from scratch & time is not what Jordan has much of.
Collins coaching style has changed quite a bit from the Chicago days. I think he is a much smarter, calmer coach now than before. Its because he is much older & more mature. I think with a young team like the Wizards, he needs to be
Well that's just what I think...

Yeah you have a good point there, Flipside. I hadn't thought of it like that.
As an aside, I like Collins' hair now too compared to his Chicago Bulls' days. I saw T.V. clips of him back then and that afro was horrible.
The straight slick back look that he now sports looks much better. |

@ Collins AFRO. hahaha yeah Spike he had the maddest afro [NOT]! He looks much more slick in his new striking hair cut!
I think his new coaching style now is much more realistic than before. I use to remember how he use to say back in the bulls days, "my last minute game plan is, give the ball to MJ & everyone clear the f### out" well something like that! haha... |
