Oh I hate Rice. I don't hate him as a person mind you, but as a basketball player, I just think he's a ballhog.
He doesn't play any defense at all. I'll give him credit though, he has improved his game a bit since he's come into the league. He used to be just a shooter. But now he can take it to the hole as well as spot up.
He was kind of a sore loser last last season too when the Lakers seemed to be struggling during the regular season. Rice said something to the effect that the Lakers wouldn't repeat without him. Boy was he wrong about that.
One story I heard about Rice, I think epitomizes the kind of player he is. When Glen Rice and Vlade Divac were both playing for Charlotte, the Hornets had the ball one sequence and Divac passed the ball late in the shot clock to Rice and he missed the shot. All the way down the floor Rice was shouting angrily at Divac. At the next timeout, Divac asked Rice why he was mad and Rice answered, "Don't give me the ball that late in the shot clock. You'll ruin my shooting percentage". That's all you need to know about Glen Rice right there. When it comes down to it, he's just a stats guy. |

DAMNNN really? hahaha - man that's hilarious in a way, and it sounds so lame! - LOL here BIG TIME spike! how low can you go Rice?
I remember M.J. getting mad at Pippen because Pip didn't pass him the ball inside when he had position. But he only said that cos he wanted an inside-outside game, even though Pippen hit the 3 point shot! But that's just being competitive. But saying, "dont do this or that cos it will f#ck up my shooting percentage" TOPS that by 1 million!
To tell you the truth I don't mind Rice as a player off & on the court. I think he can create his own shots inside or out. He is one of the few players that can draw fouls similar to M.J & Reggie Miller.
Only if he was a much smarter player & not so much of a SULK! He might be more succesful now! |

Hehe, yeah I loved that story when I first heard it as well.
I have other stories like that as well. I have to remember them though.

Yeah, I just never really liked Glen Rice that much for some reason. Even during his days at the University of Michigan when he lead them to the National Championship back in 1989.
I still remember him whining with the Lakers 2 years ago when they were on the way to their first title. Then he had his wife whine too. That's just bad form man. |
