|
|
I broke my favorite club today, a persimmon fairway wood. Talk about destroying an afternoon. It was the only actual wooden club I own, but man that club was the best. (I am notorious for a bit of a bad slice with my long irons and this was my saving grace).
So now I guess I will have to scour for a replacement. I stopped at a couple places on the way home, but I couldn't find a single "wooden" club. The kid at the pro shop didn't think they even made wooden clubs anymore. What a joke, (I wonder if he even plays golf or just works there to avoid the fast-food places?)
So I guess my question is, do I bite the bullet and switch to a metal head, or try and replace the wooden one?

| I'm not much of a golfer, but I'll give the best advice I can. If there was a certain item I had success with, and it broke. I would try to get something as similar to the origional as I could. So my answer is try to find another wood club. |

| If you want to find another wooden club you might try ebay if you can't find one locally. They have just about anything you might want so I'm sure you could find something close to what you had. |

Maybe the fact that you can't readily find a wooden club is a sign-- you need to modernize a bit. I think any wood that you use often will begin to feel right. I couldn't imagine using an actual "wooden" wood after swinging titanium. That would be like using a wooden bat in slow-pitch softball-- it just doesn't make sense. _________________ Champions aren't made in the gyms. Or maybe the club breaking was a sign that you should pick up a different sport... _________________ Champions aren't made in the gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them -- a desire, a dream, a vision.

Some companies still make wooden heads, but they are rare.Check out google, I'm sure you could find them.
The traditional nowadays is moving towards distance, and the technology in clubs is tremendous. Which is a far cry from what they can say for persimmon woods.
Sadly they are just not as versatile, and the labour to make them is less practical. _________________ Need Help with your golf game? Find the answer's here! -www.thegolfdrillguru.com |

| Yeah they stopped making wooden clubs a long time ago. Trust me, you will hit a metal club farter, higher, straighter than any old wooden club |
