Personally I think it should be LSU because they have alredy played VT early in the season. And they obliterated them. I never thought USC should be #1 because they haven't played anyone yet to deserve it. What do you guys think?

Does it matter? I mean, if they both win out, the championship game will decide who the real #1 is. Too much is put into this, IMO.

LSU is more battle proven at this point and have more impressive wins. With that being said USC still face Cal and Oregon. All in All theres no telling if we will ever know who the #1 is in the nation at the end of the year cause of their stinking system. God forbid they both lose a game or you have multiple undefeateds. Name another sport that "votes" for the champion.

LSU is the clear #1 now, after USC's loss to Stanford. I think that the SEC is a much tougher conference than the PAC 10 is, anyways. Therefore, if LSU does end up losing a tough SEC game, I would still think that they would be #1.

Even if USC blew out Stanford, instead of losing, I still LSU is too strong. The only reason USC is up there is because of the Bush Linert era.

South Florida has been getting steadily better and better over the last 3 years, and have worked hard to get to where they are now. I hear talk now that if they run the table, they still won't be as good as some 1-loss teams. I get so tired of hearing that stuff; it is time for a playoff system.
