While we all felt sorry at times when Ron Low stood in front of the Media and scratched his head when asked why the Rangers won't play committed & intelligent hockey on a consistant basis, but when does it stop? Not since when Keenan was at the helm did this Franchise (the one with major $$$$ behind them) command respect from its fans. Where is the guy everybody loves to hate??? Keenan belongs in New York!!!!!!!!!!!

"Who can save the Rangers???"

The answer is nobody right now. They need to stop spending so much money on veterans who don't produce. So many of their guys are getting old and not putting up numbers. In my opinion, they should start rebuilding and stop trading away draft picks for guys like Lindros and Bure. On paper the team can score, but nobody plays defense on that team. I thought Kasparitis could help but he hasn't done much at all. They also could use consistency in goal. Dunham looked sharp in his first game as a Ranger, but last night he only stopped 10 shots. They lost 6-1 to the Penguins.

They have any young players that are learning from the old timers?

They traded a few guys away for Lindros. And I'm pretty sure they sent a first round pick or something in the trade for Bure.

So nope. They have guys like Lundmark who were supposed to be good. I don't know what happened there though.

Did someone light a fire under their butts? They're playing a lot better now.

They still were in the cellar last time I checked though

It's funny since most of their top players are hurt. Nedved just came back and Leetch, Poti, and Messier are all hurt. Plus Bure is out for awhile still from surgery.

The Rangers remind me of the Detroit Lions, only with more money.

They remind me of the Texas Rangers. Let's go out and get all good scorers and no defense! Yes...

In Sather's first game as coach, they lost in OT to the Avs. They did come back from a 2 goal deficit though which is good.

I think the reason the Rangers keep going out and getting these high priced free agents is because New Yorkers demand results. A possible reason for the poor preformances of such players as Kasparitis and Bure is that New York is a pressure cooker for athlete's whereas Florida is a quiet place to play where no one really pays any attention to hockey.

I agree. How else did Kovalev get so good after leaving town?
