I like it because it makes me pay attention to all the news in football and keeps me active throughout the season.

People love it because they get the feel of managing a sports team. You get to draft, trade, pick up free agents and compete against others in a season. If you like to follow the sport then you get some more incentive to do so which makes it even more enjoyable to watch and look at box scores.

I always followed stats way too closely. It was a natural fit, I guess.

However, I rarely win in fantasy sports. It's fairly time consuming if you want to do well. At least for me, that is.

I think people feel more connected to the leagues and sports if they are in a fantasy league. I feel that's true, because of all the attention I have to pay to news and information on players (injuries, etc.) and teams (where and who they're playing, etc.). Plus it's fun to call yourself an owner/manager of a team.

It gives me the opportunity to group my favorite players in one team.
