I say unload Bonds, and Durham at the very least. _________________ http://www.gesundefamlie.de |

Bonds is only part of the problem, though. Zito hasn't been all that great this year, and he needs to get back to his level of play when he was an A. Cain is coming around, and if they can perhaps pull in another decent starter, they can improve. I am not sure Klesko has been the answer for the bat to protect Bonds, though, either. _________________ www.chiefswarpath.com |

They obviously need to improve that roster a great deal, but they need to stay away from irresponsible signings like Zito. Bonds may or may not be back, and since the record's already been broken anyway, the Giants are only going to be able to generate revenue and attract fans with a winning team as opposed to paying off one guy who could bring in 50,000 fans every night while ignoring the competitive success of the team.
Personally, I'd rather root for a winning team than just one guy who spends 1/18th of the game in the batters' box to hit home runs on a bad team. The Giants' ownership has really given their fans a raw deal the last few years. |

I think that Bonds can still help the team, but perhaps not as the 3 or 4 hitter. I mean, they guy can still hit homers, and will still draw a ton of walks. A guy who gets on-base as much as him can still find a place on the team. The thing is, he will have to take a pay dock, I think, to bring in a good, young power hitter who can give you 40+ homers a year. Maybe it is time to move Bonds to first base? _________________ www.chiefswarpath.com |

| if bonds decides to stay you try to keep him becuase he will get on base. most important thing get a guy who could at least hit 35 homers and a guy who can get hits and occasionals hoemer like jeter (not exatly him i used him as example) to help barry if he is there; durham and klesko are barry bonds protection thats a joke. zito will eventually get better and cain will become a star thats a good 1-2 punch. ltry to get solid guys on the rotation and get some help on the bullpen; but most important get a big bat on the lineup. |

Alright updated version Bonds won't be back and their is no way the giants will even be decent in 2008. Zito will be decent but not great, Matt Morris and Cain will be less than decent, and Lincecum i think will be their best pitcher but the average age of their players is like 37. They are gonna have to bounce the old baggage and just grab some younger players and maybe some free agents and hope for the best. _________________ Live like their is no tomorrow and one day you will be right |

I think that Cain will be ok next season. Zito will be a bit better than this year, I think, but not special. However, that is the foundation for a solid rotation. If they can get one more decent starter, then I think they will be moving in the right direction.
They will need to free-agent shop for some bats, big time. Perhaps if A-Rod is serious about shopping around next season.... _________________ www.chiefswarpath.com |

| Thing with losing Bonds is now you have an extra $16 million that you can direct elsewhere in improving the team. Of course there's no replacing a bat like Bonds', but he obviously wasn't making the team any better. |

Sometimes, you have to use addition by subtraction. I think they can get better. _________________ www.chiefswarpath.com |

Ya ur right the rotation will be decent but the problem is still in the lineup. Without Bonds they have little to no power. And I mean they would have to get an Andruw Jones who I doubt atlanta is gonna resign or a Tori Hunter who I don't think will be back in Minnesota next year. _________________ Live like their is no tomorrow and one day you will be right |
