Those would be two very good options for the Giants. Jones may be the better option, but Hunter would be a good improvement, too.

Ya I mean Im a braves fan and I hope that we are able to keep him because as much crap as they have given him this season he still hit 26 homers and had a 100 rbis. So I mean if they wanted power those two would be good. U got any other suggestions of what they should do?

Omar Vizquel has been a solid defensive player, but he is getting up there in age as well. Off the top of my head, I just can't think of any really promising, young players that they have right now.

Ya its really sad how I can't think of anyone on that team. Oh wait they got that one center fielder who hit two grand slams as a rookie. Lewis is his last name I think but other than nothing.

Matt Cain's put up good numbers, he's just had poor run support. He's only 22. He had a good rookie year (4.15 ERA, 1.28 WHIP, .222 BAA) and he's improved upon that... this is just his second year. 3.65 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, .235 BAA. 10th in the NL in ERA, 11th in WHIP, 6th in BAA.

I agree that Cain has showed some promise, and will help in building a strong rotation.

Ya they have a solid young pitching staff and Matt Cain will have a much better year if he can get some offensive help in some of his games. I was just wondering where they were gonna find the offensive production from without barry bonds.

I dont think there is any way realistically they can do a 180 ... yes they need to get younger however there isn't a great number of free agents that will make that big of an impact. Cutting ties with Bonds would be a good start, but they need to trade off vets for prospects and build up from the minor leagues and sign a handful of players.

Now the answer is clear: pick up Andruw Jones, and A-Rod. If they can afford it. Although Jones only hit around .250 or less, I think he will bounce back. His fielding is falling off a bit, but the power is worth the money.
