Why did they release Steve Mariucci? He has a very good record and the team had a very short rebuilding period. Rumors are that Steve wanted more a GM role and a raise in pay.
Now they are interviewing canidates for a job that they shouldn't have to be. I think the 49ers will go down hill now.

Get some DB's, maybe they'll be good next year.
It will be tougher if the Rams regain their form though. _________________ -Wedge231 chris@c-wod.com

Walsh still thinks he can take a team to the Super Bowl even though I doubt it since he coached when there was no salary cap. And they probably didn't like Steve looking at other coaching posititions but then who can blame him for doing so. _________________ It takes a lot of punishment to be able to do anything to change the social order.

Mooch was never a fit in SF. He loves to run the ball, and the niners franchise is known for their rich passing history (Montana, Young) that a coach such as Mariucci will no be well accepted there. He is a spectacular coach, however, and will land on his feet with a good job somewhere. _________________ Justin Lieber |

| Matt Millen will hire him to coach the Lions soon and within a few years he'll be looking for another job because that organization drags down everyone that's on their payroll. It's a curse. |

The 49ers are talking to Monte Kiffin, and Ted Cottrell. I had a feeling they would go after Kiffin once the bowl was over.
I think Much might be able to turn the Lions around but not into a super bowl team. That is if they hire him. |

I never even heard of Kiffin until the Bucs made the Super Bowl...but any coach that manufactured THAT defense must be good _________________ Justin Lieber |
