| Could be a .500 club but they are probably a year or two away from really contending. |

All do respect, yes, the Rays look good, young and definatley have potentioal. However, you have to realize that we are only .. what 20 games into the season? Boston and New York are not healthy yet.. I think in a year or two, they will be ok.. also, do you honestly think that Tampa will pony up to start paying these guys when their contracts start coming up? _________________ rookies, autographs, and other great memorabilia.

As improved as they may be, can they stay out of the cellar? I don't see them dominating the Sox and Yankees, and the Blue Jays are still better, I think. _________________ www.chiefswarpath.com |

Why doesn't ESPN talk about the Rays...after all they are ontop of Boston AND New York. I know it's only May but I'm sick of watching sportscenter and seeing

Well, that's a different issue. The Rays are on top of the division at the moment but are still not at the point where people are tuning in to see how the Rays did the night before. This early in the season the media is still going to focus more on the teams they expect to be there in the end, not necessarily the teams on top now. If you see the Rays still within a few games of a playoff spot once July rolls around you'll see them start to get much more attention with the media.
And I mean that as a generality. ESPN itself seems to love the Rays. They had a couple people early in the season picking them as an 85-90 win team. |

I think the Rays can finish as high as second but that's only if the Yankees completely implode. They will probably top out at 85 wins max. _________________ Check out my blog: Hip 2 Da Game: The One Stop Hip-Hop and Sports Blogspot
