LT also caught the ball 40 more times...plus, AT only played in, what, 13 or 14 games. LT had 3 more TDs than AT, and obviously multiple rushing attempts behind a weak line will yield a smaller YPC

I said he held the ball 100 times more, which includes rushing and recieving. And yes, I cannot justify LT not holding onto the football this year. But if he is making "Randy Moss like catches" and "Barry Sanders like rushes", I think 5 lost fumbles can be overlooked.
Marshall Faulk lost 3 fumbles this year, and he finished second in MVP voting.
Priest Holmes lost 3 fumbles but noone seems to care because he led the league in rushing.
Curtis Martin lost 2 but he is one of the best backs in the league, so who cares?
You are talking about 5 lost fumbles behind one of the crappiest lines in the NFL. |

To me, LT's decline during the Chargers losing streak will cause him not to win the RoY. Also, AT closed out the regular season with a good performance.

"They have played this year beyond their fumbles." - Not quite sure what you are saying there.
And true, Chambers and AT both started weaker and finished strong, which, unfortunately, appears to be the only hurdle blocking LT from the award. The latter half of the season sticks in peoples minds better then the first half, which means LT might not get the award which I believe he deserves.
But still: he set Chargers record for yards from scrimmage, second highest rushing yardage total in chargers history, amongst other notable stats. Quite the feat for a rookie. |

Great things await him in the future. The Chargers have a good foundation for becoming a good team in the future..
