From ESPN.com:

Quote:
Smith received 801 first-place votes cast by the national electorate. That is 86.7 percent of the votes, the highest percentage in history. In a season in which Ohio State played only one team after September that finished with a winning record, Smith's biggest rout came in the most prestigious individual competition in college football. Even the players who finished behind him, Arkansas sophomore tailback Darren McFadden and Notre Dame senior quarterback Brady Quinn, endorsed Smith.

This guy is really good. He's got natural talents and a very good feel for the game.

Not a chance. Odds are that's going to be Brady Quinn. Troy Smith is a good college QB, but considering he's around 6'0 tall no NFL team is going to take him in #1 overall. If he works out well I could see him going in the second round, but I think the third round is more realistic right now.

Troy Smith will officially be scouted at 6'1". The following is a list of QB's (starting right now) that are starting in the NFL.

Rex Grossman - 6'1"
Bruce Gradkowski - 6'1"
Jeff Garcia - 6'1"
Michael Vick - 6'0"
Drew Brees - 6'0"
Tarvaris Jackson - 6'1"

Now, this doesnt make a strong case for Smith going in the first round, however, three of these QB's are starting for teams heading to the playoffs. Not to mention, none of the quarterbacks listed had the all around game that Smith finally developed.

My guess, is a hometown team like the Browns will take him early in round 1 or he will slip to early in the second round.

Well it looks like the first two picks are going to the Raiders and the lions. If either of these teams dont take Smith or Quinn I will be really suprised. It seems to me that both these teams need a QB. Especially the Lions.

Brady Quinn will be the better of the two quarterbacks in the NFL. He is already ahead of Troy Smith because he runs the NFL type offense under Charlie Weiss. His arm is also more accurate and stronger. Troy Smith is like a cheap version of Vince Young. And by the way Troy Smith came in with good players around him. Brady Quinn made all his WR's and RB's better.
