I still haven't figured out Cujo yet. Up until about a few weeks ago I would have said to trade him, but he finally seems to be finding his game.

Well I never liked him, but it doesn't mean he is a bad goalie, he's still one of the good ones around the league.

Maybe it's the fact that when he was a leaf, he was paid to steal games, now that he's in Detroit, he's just another player, he's not the main player of the team. He does not get the same amount of shots that he did in Toronto so mayeb he's not as concentrated, but he should be since he had 60 games to get used to it.
We also tend to compare what he does to what Hasek did last year, and you just cannot do that, the wings are still having a good season.

But I believe he will be better in the playoffs, the only thing is that glove of his....

The biggest problem I had with Cujo (when he was still in Toronto) was his inconsistancy. He would have great games one day, and absolutely hoorible ones the next. But to his creadit he always seemed to pull through when it counted.

I read in todays paper some more "info" about Nolan. According to the paper Toronto is basically the only team who still wants him. Philly wanted him but weren't will to trade one of the players asked. It seems like the want MaCauly, Bolyes (The leafs top prospect still in the minors) and a first round draft pick in 2003. Personally I believe this is what SJ may want but I would doubt it is gonna happen. Pat Quinn doesn't like giving away too much or making big trades, not to mention Toronto would proabaly get completely riped off in this trade, the'll figure something out though.. Imagine ifwe do get Nolan though, this Toronto team would become a whole lot more "loved" by the time the playoffs came.

Well Ottawa has finally made a strong move by obtaining Vaclav Varada. What they gave away for him Klepis an 18 year old center playing in Czech Republic would not have made any impact on the Senators team for at least 4 years if not longer.

The reason is the Sens have Jason Spezza and Anton Vermette both young and talented centers playing in Binghamton NY. As it now stands Jason probably will come up to play full time sometime in mid to end March.

Varada who is only 26 will bring a toughness and strong defensive play to the left side of the Senators.

I predict one more trade coming up as Ottawa is still interested in Brad May from Phoenix and Scott Thornton from San Jose or perhaps Bates Batagglia from Carolina..

Regardless Ottawa is a much stronger team as of today.

The Leafs interest in Owen Nolan baffles me. Their need is obvious and it is defence. Its not so much what you get when playing the game its what you give. Cujo is now a distant memory and as long as Eddie's back holds out the Leafs are strong in goal BUT their defence is not very good.

I know Yeskevich's name has arisen lately but watching him play for LA this year I can only say that he is giving up too many turnovers and in the playoffs thats a no no..

I just heard today that the leafs aquired Wesley for a 2004 second round draft pick. Hopefully he can help the leafs struggling defence a little. There was speculation that the leafs originally wanted Ferrence, but when Florida wanted to dump Bure's contract on them too they lost interest

The senators appear to be adding alot more grit on their team, but they don't seem to be giving up anything but "future considerations" Anyone know what this means?

Future considerations are players or draft picks to be named later.
It will be based on the performance of the acquired player.

If you're talking about Rob Ray, the sens won't have to give much, no matter how good he plays !
I have a hard time understanding how this guy could help this team, or any team for that matter !

Gilmour is comin Home woot!!!!!!!!!, we also tried to get Niinimin but ended up with housley, I suppose that is an improvement. The biggest problem for the leafs right now is they have too many players 15 forwards and 9 defensemen. It will be interesting to see how this plays out

Yea ray is an enforcer to the core, he has no points this season, and 99 penalty minutes, which is down from 200 last year. I suppose the sens are hoping to add some grit but I'm not sure if ray is the one to do it, we'll have to wait and see...
