It was only a few years ago when most thought that Tiger Woods would not be stopped on the PGA Tour, but until yesterday, he hadn't won a stroke play event in 16 months.

Tiger Woods ended the streak of no wins since October 2003, with a come from behind victory at the Buick Invitational. What really makes this impressive, is that Woods played 31 holes on Sunday, because the tournament was often interupted with foggy conditions, forcing plenty of delays.

I have never thought that the former world number one golfer has lost his game like some believe, I just think that the rest of the tour has caught up to his level. That's why it's taken so long for him to finally win another tournament. He's not used to being second and having more great golfers just behind him in the world golf rankings.

I have enjoyed the parity on the PGA Tour over the last couple of years with so many new and different players winning major tournaments, and I certainly hope that continues - but I wouldn't mind having Tiger back in the hunt on Sundays too.

Yeah, I agree about the tour catching up. I also think his game has been a little inconsistent, but golf is a crazily tough sport and that happens. Going into this year, I really felt that this could be a great year for him (win 4-5 tournments, let's say, including a major) and he's off to a good start.

I've never been one for parity. I am for whatever happens. Parity is fine, dynasties are fine.

When Tiger is out of shape he finishes usually on the top ten. But when he is inspired he is really the best.

Four or five winnigs this year, I suppose.

Let's see how he does in the majors. Ultimately, he'll be judged by those...

Perhaps a wide rose of players have reduce the gap. But Tiger is always a step higher.

On sunday, Vijay Singh has missed the cut, ending a streak of 28 consecutive cuts. Great, but normal for a number one like him. Ernie Els has replace Vijay now, and he has the second-longest active streak of consecutive cuts (= 16). It's also a good performance.

But, in the first place remains Tiger with 135 consecutive cuts and the streak can go ahead for long. So he still being the more consistent player in the field and I think he'll regain number one soon.

I think the season is confirming what I said here some months ago.

Yesterday Tiger matched a "-11" round, with a pair of consecutive eagles. F. Funk, who was in his group, said: "That's the best golfer in the world playing at his best".

1st, 1st and 2nd in the last three majors at the moment.

Tiger said he has changed something in his swing. Could be this is an explanation?
