i dont understand this play-in game crap..........i thought 64 teams made it and that was it.........but now they have to have 2 teams battle it out for a last spot, its stupid............and totally disrepects the schools that are going to the play-in game in my opinion...............making it seem like there not worthy of a freaking bid of at least a 16 seed

The two schools in the play in game are usually small schools with no national recognition. Getting on ESPN is a big deal for those schools from a publicity standpoint.

That's true but I think if there is going to be a play-in game it should be between two of the bigger non-conference winners. Both of the play-in teams are teams usually that won their conference tournaments and one of them will earn a spot but not get to play in the tournament. I think it's kind of unfair.

Yeah, the play-in teams get kind of screwed. They should be sceded with the rest of the bracket. If they want to make it work, put them both in the bracket with whoever they think is the #1 overall best team (perhaps according to the season poll before the tournament), and give that #1 team a bye in the first round.

I think that the NCAA championship is probably one of the better run tournaments, as far as the way the teams are selected and seded goes. How would you change it?

its just that i've kinda become a fan of hofstra, and because they got snubbed last year, it may have been them going to the final 4 instead of mason. if 96 teams entered the tournament, there would be no need for teams to complain about that. and remember, 34 bids in the current format are just human opinions anyway. hofstra was better than mason in '06, yet mason got in. also, you could give the regular season champions an outo bid, then the tournament champions, then the rest would be at-larges. its better than being in the NIT, where your basically playing to bve the "66th best team in the country".
