Pretty cool article.

Mo's Cutter and Hoffman's change-up tied for the lead. Imagine that, Defska...

Thats why they are probably the two best closers ever

That was a pretty good article. Hoffy's change is amazing. Whenever he gets a first pitch strike across (which he usually does) any batter needs to get ready for the change. And even when the know it's coming they still look like fools chasing it. It's great.

In the WS, the game winning hit, MO jammed Gonzo, he just got lucky.

I agree, Mo is a great pitcher. Luckily, the Padres never get to face him. But lucky for you guys, you never get to face Hoffy.

We didn't face him in the WS in 98?

Well, what I meant was in an average season the Yanks and Pads dont face each other. Although that changes this season doesnt it? Cant wait for that series...

In the WS, if I remember correctly. Hoffy pitched in game 3. Although I dont believe he ever came in in a save situation or anything.

Hoffman went 0-1 with a 9.00 ERA.

We (Yankees/Padres) play on June 21, 22, 23. Playing for bragging rights between us.

0-1 with 9.00 ERA...hmmm...that must mean he came in with the game tied and gave up a run in 1IP...must have been game 3

well, all I remember about that series was that that 1998 Yankees team was one of the best teams of all time and the Padres were in way over their heads to begin with

...And yep, cant wait till that Yankee/Padre series. Nevin should be back by then, and hopefully the rest of the team is healthy by then. Should be a good series.
