It's known as "A Tradition Unlike Any Other," and it begins tommorow in Augusta, Georgia.
It's the 69th playing of The Masters at the famed course - Augusta National, which is probably the most sacred course in North America.
*Cue: The CBS Masters' music.*
Ah, yes it's definitely a rite of spring when The Masters are played. _________________ J.R.'s SPORTS WORD.

There was a bit of golf played Thursday and a bit of golf played Friday, which basically means the weekend will be full of make-up rounds and players having to play up to 22+ holes a day.
The forecast for Saturday has only a 10% chance of precipitation and Sunday has a 0% chance. High temperatures will range from 21°C (69°F) to 24°C (75°F).
Like so many broadcasters this week, I feel like a weatherman, because there is so much more weather to talk about than actual golf. _________________ J.R.'s SPORTS WORD.

Sunday at The Masters is always a special day and today's final round and a half at Augusta National was no different.
This morning began with most players finishing the majority of their third rounds, before even thinking about the fourth. There Tiger Woods found himself down by four strokes behind Chris DiMarco, but began a charge like no other and not only caught him but blew past to lead by three entering the fourth round. The final pairing was Woods (-11) and DiMarco (-8), and many had expected Tiger to run away with it.
However, DiMarco didn't give up. He hung right beside Woods, even though Tiger birdied his first two holes and began looking unbeatable again. Heading to the back nine, Woods only led by one stroke and that set up a terrific finish. The two exchanged great shots with finishes of birdies and even heart-stopping pars. The Tradition Unlike Any Other proved once again to be just that.
On the 16th green, Woods found himself only up by on on the fringe and made a truly unforgetable chip that literally stopped for more than a second before finally dropping in for a birdie to extend the lead to two with two holes to play. Woods then made mistakes on the 17th and 18th with two bogeys to allow DiMarco to tie him on the 72nd hole of the tournament. That set up a sudden death playoff, beginning back on the 18th.
In the playoff, Woods' experience and calm nature really began to show as he birdied the hole to better DiMarco's par. With the win, Tiger captures his fourth green jacket and leaves even more memories out on the course in Augusta, Georgia. _________________ J.R.'s SPORTS WORD.
