The Chiefs have cut Ty Law and Kendrell Bell. I don't think that these are bad moves, but I think that perhaps the Chiefs should have kept Kawika Mitchell instead of signing Bell. _________________ www.chiefswarpath.com |

Well, I saw some crappy news today. The Dolphins are currently in contract negotiations with OT Jake Long of Michigan, which pretty much means that the Chiefs aren't going to be drafting him. I saw that there are a few other OLs out there to take, so I hope they are still leaning in that direction. _________________ www.chiefswarpath.com |

Here are some plans the Chiefs are looking at for Jared Allen: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3353557
So, he is not gone yet, and they have not franchised him yet. They can still sign him, and I really think that they should. The draft can be so fickle; why not go with what you got, when you know that it is good. _________________ www.chiefswarpath.com |

So do I. It seems they have made the trade: http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/8061676/Vikes,-Chiefs-make-blockbuster-deal-for-DE-Allen
The Chiefs pick up some draft picks, but I don't know that giving up Allen is worth it. I can imagine that Allen was pretty much fed up with Peterson and the organization in general, so this is probably best in the long run. But giving up the best defensive player that the team has had since Derrick Thomas is just not a good move, in my opinion.
It appears that Allen is getting around $30 million in guarantees, and the contract is potentially worth over $74 million, if incentives are met. Good for him. Bad for K.C. _________________ www.chiefswarpath.com |

Derrick Thomas was truley one of the greatest, didn't he have something like 2 6 sack games in his career. The guy was incredible....... _________________ The Nutmegger

| Being a huge KC fan, championships are won with the Big D. The Giants proved that last year against the Pats. So I am happy with the draft and their picks. It should be interesting having a younger and fresher look. |

I guess Dorsey is a good 1st round pick, but if they hadn't traded away Allen, then they wouldn't have had to draft Dorsey. Or better yet, keep Allen, and draft Dorsey, and you got that push up the front. However, I would have preferred to see an OL drafted in the first round, but I guess they felt that the ones they wanted would be around later.
I think they should have picked up a few more lineman as well. _________________ www.chiefswarpath.com |
