Hi! My name is Irina))) And I’m from Russia. Please, don’t image a dark forest, a hut, snow and bears, etc.) )

Olympics 2010 just ended. And I can’t think about the future Winter Olympics in Sochi.
My knowledge of English isn’t impressive (generally speaking, superficial)

For all that I try to know what American, British, Canadian journalists write in the English-language press.

In the process of reading, I increasingly meet with skepticism and criticism about the upcoming event. I really (to the point of trembling) want to know the opinion of ordinary fans and sports enthusiasts – just like me.

Sochi isn’t the Olympic Games of our ruling groups, even though exactly they sponsor and promote the Project. We worry about the success of Olympics. And, believe me, we have little in common with politics.

Not outstanding performance of our team upset us (It's ridiculous to deny this).
But the main thing for us is to conduct the Olympics without scandals, conflicts, technical failures and so on.

Therefore I ask you for help. Please, take up the call and tell me, what you think about the 2014 Olympics in Sochi.

Thanks a lot!

P.S. I’m sorry for terrible mistakes! I know, they are foolish and glaring. But I hope you understood general sence

Welcome aboard, Seamni. So, you're concern is that Sochi can't handle hosting the event?

Thanks,

Patrick

Please, don't misunderstand me. I know, my country has and manpower, and natural, and financial resources to handle with the White Olympic Games.

But I don’t manage organization of the OG, I don’t make decisions. Therefore, I worry how these resources will be spent - to advantage or for nothing.

But couldn’t you answer another question?
Now many people (journalists) write that hockey players from the NHL won’t arrive to us. And, that is much worse, they speak about Olympic Games boycott.

Because of this I am almost ready to push the panic button.
Again Hello, generations of sportsmen who won’t receive medals because of politics tricks?

I would like to know your opinion

Patrick, thank you very much for answer

P.S. Sorry for mistakes(

Hey Seamni,

Thanks for the reply. My pleasure. I haven't read much about a boycott, etc. Could you provide some links?

When you say "White Olympic Games," what does that mean?

Thanks,

Patricki

Let's hope that the next Olympic committee takes safety seriously so that no athletes suffer a tragic death such as the luge athlete from Georgia.
