Dakoda Dowd opened play Thursday with a birdie in the LPGA Ginn Open, doing so while her terminally ill mother looked on, surrounded by friends and family. She finished with a 2-over 74, a glorious day for a 13-year-old whose mother is battling cancer.

i saw that on ESPN and she will grow up to be a great golfer if she sticks with it. Its a very sad situation though  |
