Just wondering if you guys could name of few of the strongest football players ever (past or present). Someone who is very hard to take down because of his strength, not skills. The last person you would want to get tackled by.
I hear a lot of people say Larry Allen is probably the strongest of all time. |

Bronco Nagurski was a monster. When Brian Bosworth was healthy, he set the bench press record at OU, and I think it still stands today, at around 500 lbs. Maybe it was 600, I can't remember.
A buddy of mine who is a big K-State fan was saying that Shawn Merriman was lifting at Chargers facilities, and Darren Sproles lifted right with him; same weights. And Merriman must outweigh him by 40 lbs. That is stout. _________________ www.chiefswarpath.com |

There are alot of defense. But Mean Joe Green of the Steelers in the 70's said the only person he thought inflicted more pain on him than he did on them when tackling was Earl Campbell, the guy had like 34" thighs and was a total monster. Here's a clip to look at that impresses w/ collisions. The goal line hit with Jack Tatum they say you could hear in the upper deck of the stadium and Tatum said it was the hardest he ever took.

Thank you for that clip! I have seen the one play, where he spears his head into that guy, and then ends up getting his jersey torn off at the finish of the play. He was a monster. How strong he was, I don't know. But there is no question to his meanness. _________________ www.chiefswarpath.com |

Larry Allan is my vote for strongest ever too. He benches over like 700 lb or something crazy like that. _________________ Dallas cowboys, Atlanta Braves, Houston Rockets |
