Hurray! The 2005 PGA Tour has started and my favorite player Sergio Garcia is starting off well. I hope this is the year he can get back into the thick of things. He was a dud last season. He's two strokes off the pace in the Mercedes Championships. Second round action in progress as I type.

Anyone else out there follow the PGA?

Theres a big tournament that comes to my town every year. Its called the Memorial. Its cool because all the best players in the world are here and I can see the sixth hole from my backyard

But other than that I don't follow the PGA too closely (except for the Majors)

Canadian Mike Weir is doing great in Hawaii. After the second round he only trailed Vijay by two strokes. Now he's three back through 14 holes in the third round. Since winning The Masters in 2003, Weir has become a real hero up here in Canada. Hopefully he'll have a better season in 2005, than 2004.

Sergio ended up tied for tenth, I think he's going to have a better year than 2004. I'm really surprised by V.J.'s performance yesterday, I thought he had the tournament bagged!

I follow it a little bit. The majors are the only events I'll really watch (and maybe the tournament at firestone CC since it's near me).

Sergio didn't do so well in the Buick Invitational. Tiger looked really good throughout and comes away with the win. Congrats to him.

I'm also a fan of Sergio. I think he has in this moment a great problem with is putt. At Buick's invitational he has done is usual solid great play to the green, but once there he was really unwatchable.

I think the Sergio's season will depend on that: is he is able to overcome his habitual difficulties in putting.

I think I can confirm what I said in january about Sergios's putt. He has the best world's average in Green in Regulation (72,1%), but still been 190th in short play in the green.

Anyway he is doing fine, with 50% of tops 10 in 14 tournaments.
