I got offered Vernon Wells and Lackey for Bobby Abreau. Seems ok to me, unless there's something I'm not considering. How good will Lackey be this year? I know Wells had a crap year last year, but he should be ok this year, no? Any thoughts?

Assuming no one has any injuries, that deal looks way in your favor. I wouldn't even trade Lackey straight up for Abreu.

That's what I thought. Wells' health is questionable, and before training camp there's really no way of knowing either way, but Lackey is worth it alone. Thanks for the reply dude.

No problem. I guess he might be desperate for outfielders while at the same time being pitching rich?

I ended up getting Lackey for a fifth. The guy who proposed the original trade to me didn't have him, but wanted to do some sort of three-way deal. The guy who had him would rather give him away for cheap than have to drop him and lose him to expansion (we have two expansion teams coming in). So we cut out the middle man and I keep Abreau.

Now I have four pitchers that I sort of want to keep (Sabbathia, Smoltz, Lackey, and Carmona), but I'll keep a max of three (I want to keep at least five hitters). No one else is keeping three pitchers, but what the hell, they're three of the top 10 if you don't count Carmona. Tough decisions to make ahead...

Ah, interesting. When I posted above, I was thinking that your league was a standard Yahoo! sort of league, since you hadn't mentioned any details about it. I'm not sure if that changes what I said or not... but, good luck.

We use Yahoo, but have a continuous keeper league. Now I'm pitching rich.

Yeah, I'd do that trade too. Wells is coming back ok.
