I don't really think it sucks for the Patriots... They will tighten up their secondary I'm sure, and Asante is not as good as he thinks he is. He has terrific instincts and can anticipate like no other, but he is lacking in other areas. I don't think he's a shut down corner and any team who would pay for him to be one might have made a mistake.
Not to mention, the secondary (as far as I know) was not a big problem for the Eagles. The move will make more sense if they part with Lito Sheppard (who I think is as good as Samuel), which they might happen in a trade for Larry Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald would be a huge addition to the Eagles offense (which was already pretty solid).
