You watch the All-Star votes pour in for him now he's said he's retiring! I wish I'd voted for him now! I hope they pay a special tribute to him at the AS game...for my generation of baseball fans he's one of the all-time greats...a real gentleman and that extremely rare thing in baseball...somone loyal to his club!! Apparently for his last home series at Camden Yards all the games have already sold out, and his last ever game anywhere will be at Yankee Stadium which, being the most famous ball park in the world, is probably quite fitting, though I'm sure he'd have preferred to actually play his last ever game in Baltimore. I'm sure he will get a great send-off from everyone associated with the game. You only realise how much you will miss these great guys once they're finally gone.
So long Mr Baltimore. |

It's cool that he's ending his career in NY. If you want it somewhere other than his home stadium, go to Yankee Stadium. It will add to the rest of the great moments that have happened there. It is good for him as he has been struggling and it is good that some new faces will get to start in the All-star game in future years.

The coincidence that he ends his career in the same stadium Lou Gehrig gave his famous speech is pretty cool.
