Priest Retires
I am not sure what prompted this, but my guess would be that the lack of protection up front and Priest perhaps feeling that he could not regain the speed of the game, or take the punishment again. Either way, I wish him well...he does a great deal for the Chief organization, and I hope to see him on the Ring of Fame in a few years.
One thing that bothers me is wondering if part of the reason the Chiefs traded Michael Bennett was because of Priest's return, or if it was just the right place, right time for the trade.[/url] _________________ www.chiefswarpath.com |

| I'm pretty sure he sustained another neck injury, though unlike the one a couple of years back which caused his first retirement, this wasn't as serious |

Yes, I think he re-aggravated his previous injury, and new better than to push it. But, I wouldn't say that this was an unforseeable occurnece, either.
However, it was a great show of respect by the Chiefs organization to give him his last chance. He will be in the Chief's ring of fame soon.
Did you all know that he holds the record for the most career rushing yardage for a non-drafted free agent? _________________ www.chiefswarpath.com |

He'll be back. |
No, I really don't think so this time. The symptoms that the doctors warned him about popped up, and that prompted his retirment. He wanted to prove that he could come back, and he did. I think he has proven all he wants to. He was brave to come back, but he isn't foolish enough to risk the rest of his healthy adult life on trying to take a chance that great. _________________ www.chiefswarpath.com |
