From ESPN.com:

Quote:
The Houston Astros were engaged in serious discussions to acquire veteran left-hander Randy Wolf of the San Diego Padres. As it turns out, the Astros got their man. ...

To land Wolf, the Astros sent minor league right-handed pitcher Chad Reineke to the Padres. By making the trade, the Padres saved $3.7 million.

Thoughts?

I don't know much about Wolf, so I can't really say much. If they only traded a minor leaguer for him, then I guess it isn't a bad deal.

At 12.5 games back, it does seem to be a stretch. But how many times have we seen the Astros make the stretch run?

Ya the Astros shood just give it up, no way they make it past the Cardinals, Brewers, and Cubs...this was a move that may improve their rotation, but will not put em in the hunt
