| Ozzie is the only player selected into the HOF this year, making it in his first year. An amazing player that paved the way for the infielders of today that shine defensively greater then ever. |

| He definately deserves it, but there are people that didn't make it this year, that I think should have. But oh well, that's for another year I guess. |

thats a cool website - you can look up any player?
yeah i was shocked gary carter was that close, missed by 11 votes, i dont consider him one of the "greats" of baseball. hell, i cant even really remember him at all. those stats dont help his case either... .262 BA, 324 career HR, averaged 86 RBI/year ...he is obviously not there for his batting. i guess his fielding stats are pretty solid though, and he was a catcher...??? |

He was a catcher for the Expos and Mets I belive. I don't know who else he played for.
I think he's deserving though... The best catcher in baseball at the time..

| his stats, for a catcher, are good. but i dont think you can let someone into the hall because of the position they play. he was a catcher, fine, but did he excel at what catchers are supposed to do best? i dont really know... |

He had eleven all-star game appearances and 3 gold gloves. I think that is pretty good...
