I don't think he'll be the driving force behind it. There is so much money wrapped up in the bowl games that I don't see their elimination happening any time soon.

| Yeah, I agree that there should be a playoff system in college football, but unfortunately the President of the United States doesn't have any more say in the matter than you or I do. It's just a man expressing his opinion. |

It will take more then Obama to get a college football playoff. President Elect Obama has more to think of then a football playoff system.

| I don't agree with having the top 8 teams play a tournament. I'd like an 8 team playoff but they would have to consist of the major conference champions- SEC,Pac-10, Big Ten, Big 12, Big East, ACC. Then any undefeated team has to be a lock to get in, I don't care what conference they're in. Then whoever is left will get the final 1 or 2 spots. The playoff games could still be bowl games(i.e. Rose Bowl - Big Ten vs Pac-10) |

I agree. There is a lot more money behind the college bowl system than the President will even make in his 4 years in office. Just because he wants a playoff doesn't mean it will happen.
I'd be surprised if it ever happens. But at least it will always give us something to discuss here, won't it!

This playoff would take about 3 weeks.
To see the best match up between the top 2 teams of the nation would almost need every single player not injured, which would be hard to do from the beginning of the playoffs
I don't like having playoffs. |
