According to a news source the team name for the former Seattle SuperSonics will be the Oklahoma City Thunder?

Any, thoughts or comments?

I dont like it, it sounds like a minor league team name, not a professional NBA team

Yeah I agree with you, it sounds more like an WNBA team or like you said a minor league team, I think the name "Thunderbirds" or "Warhawks" would be more appropriate for an NBA team.

I agree. it's better to have an animal as the name/mascot. What is the mascot going to dress like? a lightning bolt?

I think the name is fine, really. I don't really have any strong feelings about it.

If they go with Thunder, wouldn't that mean the Warriors would have to get a different mascot to avoid confusion?

I don't think a team necessarily needs a mascot. I think it's a name people just aren't used to. I don't think it's a bad name for a team, but I think the NBA is getting less and less creative and more simplistic in naming their teams. Wonder what the uniforms will look like.
