I downloaded a demo of it, and the gameplay looks sweet. Hopefully the managing options will be just a sweet. I'll probably ask for it from somebody for Christmas. ^_^

This is currently my favorite game. Currently on season 2 of my franchise.
My Pacers team consists of Jamaal Tinsley, Tracy McGrady, Glenn Robinson, Jermaine O'Neal, and Brad Miller. Not much different from the original Pacers line-up, but I like it.
What setting do you play on Patrick?

Season 2?! 82 games + Playoffs?!?!?! Done?! Is that where you have been for the past 2 weeks? 
I play on the three star setting, forget what it is called.
I have played like a dozen games, my team is Ray Allen, Michael Jordan, Allen Iverson, Kwame Brown and Kelvin Cato (thats my starting lineup anyway).
I also have Stephon Marbury and Kerry Kittles on my bench.
Is there anyway to resign players before they become free agents? Just after the season?

Pretty much, Patrick. Although I have had this game since about a week after it's release date. 
Oh, I've now traded Glenn Robinson and aquired Vince Carter.
So, my 16-0 (season 2) team is now:
Jamaal Tinsley, Tracy McGrady, Vince Carter, Jermaine O'Neal, and Brad Miller
Yeah, 3 Stars, or the "All-Star" setting, is what I use as well. Anything less and I win by at least 50 points a game, every game.

I've got it set to 5 minute quarters. I once played a 12-minute quarter game and the score ended up something like 250-175 It was crazy!
