I don't know if there is another sixth man ever, that I'd want... .

I don't think that he should be the sixth man, but oh well, he's a prescence more than his play.

I am both for and against him playing. I mean, it is great for the game, but it is rediculous to me that Jordan can keep playing these games for his own selfish desires to play in the NBA.

Everyone is selfish if they love the game.

...like many BASKETBALL FANS around the WORLD, I've also wondered why on earth would MJ come back & play when he has already achieved so much! At first I was like I don't think he should come back because he finished his last game not only with a win & a championship, but a game winning shot! I can't think of any other way to go out in style? Then I though about it again and, here's what I think....

We have heard so many things from either him or the media: 'Either for the love of the game not the money, the fact that he loves the challenge of whether he can still compete at the NBA level & he believes he still can, to just one more itch that needed to be scratch, etc, etc.'

Whatever it may be, I believe its irrelevant. For all the pessimistic people out there, ask yourself this question, would you stop playing basketball just because the media or your fans tells you to? I know I woudn't! I wouldn't let anyone run my life & miss the chance of probably playing one last time no matter what the outcome is! Whether I make it to the Finals or even just the Playoffs!

Lastly, MJ respects his fans & even the media, but he has to do what he thinks is best for him, not what everbody else thinks is best for him. Straight up!

My parents rationale is that he could be "helping people" and doing more worthy causes. Not necccessarily a bad point, but he is doing things here and there.

...well he did donate his entire salary last year to the New York Victims of September 11 & do you actually know the stats of what organizations & people he and his team are helping out? Trust me, he is doing more than helping out "here & there."

Being a high profile sportsman/personality, so many people obviously have expectations, sometimes unrealistic & critical. MJ doesn't have to follow the line that some people have drawn out for him. What a boring world it would be, if we all followed the same line & lived up to everyones expectations. Unfortunately, you can't please everyone

At the end of the day, Michael Jordan is meeting & exceeding his social obligations as a responsible "Corporate" citizen. Tomorrow isn't promised to anyone, & as I mentioned before, he is living his life the way he wants to - shouldn't we all?

Anyway, let's bring this back to the GAME... shall WE?

He did make the league minimum last year though.

As far as "social" obligations, didn't he cheat on his wife?

I dont think its fair to judge Michael based on a mistake he made.

And I agree with flipside, there are expectations for people that have the lifestyle that MJ does, but he, in no way, is obliged to live up to them.

I still think he should stay retired

That is more than a "mistake". I am suprised that you would shrug something so serious off like that. This isn't nudging a traffic cop with your car.

This is a God based mistake, this is as bad as any mistake a man can make and although I like Michael Jordan in one way, he will never be the same person to me again after that "mistake."
