hmmm...I think Miami's defense forgot they had a game today or something. Sure, they held the ravens to 20 points, but the Dolphins D is supposed to be their strong point, and 180 whatever rushing yards up the middle??? Pathetic.
The Ravens proved why they are the defending champs, resembling the Yankees a little bit how they step it up in the postseason. Next week against the Steelers should be a good one, because you can be sure the Steeler's defense wont forget to show up.
On a side note...one person who did impress me in this game was the Fins' kicker. Not only did he help the Ravens start, what was it, 5 drives inside their own 15. But picking a fight with a defensive special teamer rushing the punt takes Guts! Haha it was jersey #1 against jersey #69, you dont see that everyday. |

Well, the defense up the middle was the only problem with the defense really.
Two drop balls made a big deal for the Dolphins O. A deep ball to McKnight which was right on the money, he tipped up and it was picked off, then on a 1st down, Dedric Ward dropped a pass, probably 20 yards down the field, and that led to a 3rd down in which Fiedler fumbled.
Fiedler played a good game, basically no one else on offense did, and that was the key problem.

The defense up the middle may have been the only problem, but that was a 200 yard problem and a HUGE problem if you ask me. It didnt matter what back the Ravens put in there, they ran all over the Fins whenever they wanted.
Fiedler did play a good game, and that drop at the end was a killer and was an inexcusable drop, but those things happen. Just was unlucky that it popped right into the Ravens hands. |

Well, I don't think any denies that thats a big problem.
But there were two problems. The Second was the Dolphin running game. Fiedler was the leading rusher - with 16 yards. That is a big problem as well.
Fiedler was absolutely not the problem this season. He had his bad games, but he was not the problem.
And also, about the Punter, Matt Turk. He saw that a guy was pinning down one of the Dolphin linebackers and he put his shoulder down and knocked the guy down in defense of his player who defends him when he is vulenrable on his punts. That was awesome. He is a FA this year and I hope we resign him.

Yeah that Matt Turk play was great, he deserves to be resigned just from his performance (punting and fighting) in that game.
And true, the Dolphin running game was, well, slow. Lamar Smith 6 carries 6 yards is not what you would expect from a top back like him; however, it is not enitrely shocking against the Ravens post-season Defense. |

Other than week 17, Lamar Smith hasn't been himself since he fumbled on the 1-yard line vs the Jets early in the year...

| Game really suprised me. With the way the Ravens played against the Vikings in week 17, I never would have imagined that they could get past the Dolphins. |
