Seattle's Lou Piniella and Philadelphia's Larry Bowa won the Manager of the Year for their respective leagues. Both ran away in the voting. I think both did a great job. Neither of their teams looked all that great on paper but came through as a team.

i dont like this award...it almost always goes to the underdog team that did well, regardless of if the manager had a great deal to do with it or not.
im not saying that these managers dont deserver it, im saying that there are a lot of other managers out there that deserve it as well, but their team's didnt play as well as seattle or philly |
