As of yesterday, my one year wait was over. I cannot believe that in a course of just over a year I went from never have even heard of the book, to not really wanting to see the movie, to actually enjoying the movie, to owning the movie and watching it like 5 times, to becoming so obsessed with the movie and the series that I am going to buy the extended edition if I don't get it for Christmas!

The original version of this movie has to be on the list of my 10 favorite movies all time, and The Two Towers ranks just ahead of it. This movie was incredible! A masterpiece. Forget the fact that there was no real beginning and no real ending, this movie was just flawlessly executed.

Those of you that saw the first movie (I hope all of you) know how well done the fight sequence was at the beginning of the movie. Well, the Two Towers has, probably, close to an hour of fighting, and every minute of them is better than the fights in the first one.

The elaboration of the character Gollum in this movie was a good decision. I love that Gollum character, and a cliffhanger at the end of the movie assures that we will see more of him in the conclusion to the trilogy. Gollum is a CG character, but is very realistic (besides the fact that he is a decrepid hobbit with thinning hair ), and he provdides the most comedic point of a movie that actually had its share of good laughs.

Since the Fellowship is split up in this movie (into three groups), there is less time to focus on Frodo's quest with the ring, and instead more of the focus is on destroying Saroman's (sp?) army set out to destroy Middle Earth. A very good decision, I might add.

Anyways, just go see this movie. Just, go.

Rating -->> 6/5

Won't be seeing it for a long time, if at all.

I thought it was incredible. I never saw the first one, but this one made me want to. I'm gonna buy the DVD in a few days.

I freaked some people out after the movie last month as I was talking to my friends with Gollum's voice. We were departing the theater and I told my friends I was so thirsty and needed precious refreshments from the nearby pub. Everyone thought I was psychotic, but got a laugh outa it.

And I can't wait for the next movie.
