I didn't see the game but I saw the highlights of the Little League World Series on my local news tonight and I basically have one question, in the (final inning) Bottom of the 6th inning, when that Japanese player got the game-winning base hit, the throw to the plate in from left field was cut off.
Was that a mistake by the pitcher from the United States team or did the catcher want him to cut off that throw because it seemed to me if that throw wasn't cut off they might have gotten a chance to get the runner who scored the winning run out at the plate? |

yeah it was my thought also...when he cut it off it eliminated ANY chance of gettin the runner at the plate...at least if he let it through there would have been some chance
oh well...these kids are like 12...give em a break |

Oh, I'm not getting on them. Just wondering. That's all.
It's already tough enough being a 12-year old kid and blowing that game on national television without anymore people getting on them. |

So what's everyone think of the Bronx team having a 14-year old pitcher..... They cheated and still didn't get 1st..

Well I hate to sound like I'm being uptight or anything but I think rules are rules.
I mean, when you're talking about teenagers, they develop their bodies quickly. I think some kids are more developed than others even if they're only one or 2 years apart in age so I would say that that "12-year old" rule should be enforced strictly. |

i feel the 12 year old age should be very strictly enforced, too. ive heard on local news casts out here that some people involved with the Oceanside, LL team hope that, should these accusations be true, someone should serve jail time for this. i have to say that i agree with this statement, to fraudulently and deliberately alter such an important world wide event, the punnishment should be no less than jail time.
...somethin that i thought was funny regarding this: after the mayor of New York gave keys to the city to the players, a local broadcaster claimed "How embarrassed will the city of New York be, should these accusations prove to be true?" hehehe - New York deserves some negative sports news i think LOL |
