its hard to believe that anyone is worth 13 mil a year, but i'm sure he will get it if they don't give it to him. baseball needs to lower its salaries these are like cartoon numbers

Players are worth what the market can bare - what they can get.

yeah i understand that, but baseball is far less popular than football and hardly anyone in football makes 13 million a year. I know they can get it, and by all means they should if they can, but why? seems ridiculous that doctors that see patients and save their lives maybe make 130k a year and they can play a game and make 13 mil. Entertainment is very powerful...

He agreed to a deal before arbitration, signing a 2 year, $23 million dollar deal, reports ESPN.

Can't agree more. I mean that is a ton of money for someone in a league that has fallen to second rank. It's hard to believe that baseball owners have enough cash to pay these guys this kind of money the way things are going.

But remember, Lincecum is still young and is a very good pitcher. No reason to not lock him up for a couple years.

Yeah I can see locking him up for like 5-6 years, just can't help but wonder what 2 years will do for the Giants. I think he is getting 2 more good years carrying that team, breaks the bank and goes Carl Pavano on who ever gives him a huge deal.
