As much as salaries are outrageous, if anyone deserves this kind of money, Lincecum does. He is a fantastic draw all around the league, and as dominating a pitcher as any the past few years. It would be interesting to see how attendance, merchandise sales, etc have increased solely because of him.
2 Cy Youngs in his first 2 full seasons, more power than a wiry body should be able to muster, yet with a devastating changeup that is quickly becoming his out pitch. Add to it his colorful persona and skateboarder/stoner appearance, he has become THE reason for fans around the league to come out and see the Giants when they come to town.

i agree. in baseball though he can tweak the wrong thing and be out for the season and a team is out quite a bit of money.
