On wednesday afternoon Pat Quinn along with his two goons tucker and dummi appeared in front of Colin Campbell. They reviewed the video tape of the game and it was pointed out that the referees were very lenient to the Leafs during that game in fact they would have played the last two periods 2 men short. It gets better Quinn LIED about the spitting incident and about the spearing against Dummi because neither happened and the video replays demonstrated that very clearly. The Leaf goons were warned one more incident like this and you are gone!
Colin Campbell was interviewed this afternoon on Sports Radio 1200 The Team and he confirmed his meeting with Quinn.
It gets better! Late this afternoon Quinn was interviewed in Buffalo and when asked about the Vaclav Varada trade to Ottawa and his offer on it, Quinn LIED again. Who in their right mind would want to play for a coach who is a proven LIAR?? |

Well Quinn is a coach that cares for his players, the team, and nothing else. Therefore, I would think players like him as a coach. He never gives out information about injuries, possible trades or any stuff related to his players. I do think Quinn will tell his players to ease on the cheap shots....til the start of the playoffs.
Varada is one dirty player himself, it should be "nice" to see what's gonna happen if those two teams meet during the spring dance !
As for Colin Campbell, he's another huge farce from the nhl, how can americans respect a sport managed by Campbell and Bettman ?
The referees are so obviously told what to call, it's not even a question.
Who cried about obstruction at the start of the season ?
Pat Quinn
Who won the arguement ?
Pat Quinn
Who benefits the most from the referees ?
Pat Quinn |

Malbulgarian you sure brought life to this hockey forum, and some how you know just how to get under my skin lol. Anyways it is obvious that some people want to play under Quinn liar or not, because he is still coach and frankly I enjoy the fact that he will support his team and his players through thick and thin. Now I am tired of arguing with you about whether the leafs are goons or not, believe what you like. I know they are a dirty team, a rough team, a team that others don't like playing and frankly I like that, Quinn has built a team based on how he used to play, rough and strong, and obviously it has worked concidering their success in the past few season, alot better then the senators no? So anyways be angry at the leafs all you like, I don't care anymore _________________ I AM CANADIAN

Ha. Captain Sundin is not too thrilled, neither is Mogilny and Roberts. I watched Sundin when the nonsense unfolded which by the way was created by Dummi and Tucker not by anyone else, and Matts was putting his glove in front of his face and although I can't read his mind, his body language indicated that he wished he was wearing some other teams jersey.
Don't be too sure that ALL Leaf players like playing for a coach who lies and has NO control over his players. On the other hand Coach Quinn could be the real culprit in encouraging his players to go out there and play like goons. Last nights game in Buffalo supports that idea a lot. 4 fights in the first ten minutes all started by Leaf players!! The Leafs have far too many goons and not enough skilled players and they will pay the price for that. In short 36 years and still no Cup!! |

well their still playing and haven't asked for a trade, cause now would be the time, so I guess their satisfied where the are, that's what any reasonable person would conclude....
but all this aside I do have a question for you. Where the Ottawa senators and expansion team, or a fairly new team. I have tried looking up their history but often tend to get confused. It seems that their was an Ottawa Senators team around in the twenties, but then there is no sign of them. did the team fall apart and than enter the league later or what? See think link and look up 1927. That's the last time an Ottawa team won the cup. If your looking for a flame war look else where. It is no tolerated on the site and I no longer hold an interest in discussing how mean the leafs are

It's not a discussion, they just are !
(just kidding, as you know I'm a habs fan, therefore I'll bring down the leafs everytime I can, it's nothing personal towards you)
As for the sens, they must have just quit the league I guess, I know they won 9 cups which is pretty good ! |

The Ottawa Senators won 11 Stanley Cups, same number as the Toronto Maple Leafs. They last won it in 1927 and the lads on that team were known as the Silver Seven mainly because there were seven of them. After that they disbanded and weren't re-born until 11 years ago as a new franchise.
As to discussing Leaf meanies well that will end permanently once they get rid of their goons. And yeah you are right it gets tiring talking about them that way but they were the ones who earned it and deserved it not the sportscasters or the fans as all we do is watch and then comment one way or the other. Those guys created and displayed that nonsense not you or I. Sad isn't it?
Anyway Ottawa has a very good shot at Stanley Cup number 12 this year which would be very embarrassing to the gang 4 hours west on the 401 right? |

lol, anyways thanks for the info, I just hope Canadian team takes it really (although Ottawa is my least favorite of canadaian teams )
anyways for some reason or another it seems the oilers have a perticular interest in alberta native, Tucker. So these goons maybe gone sooner than you think. I read in interesting stat this mourning, Nolan's new line of Renberg and Anthropov combine for a total of 18 feet 9 inches and weigh 670 pounds. Sounds like this is going to be a fun line to play against . but I don't think they would been concidered "goons" just physical players _________________ I AM CANADIAN

Nolan, Renberg and Andropov are not in the goon category. They are highly skilled and good players. As for Tucker well I can't fathom why Edmonton would want him with the attitude he has but if Toronto can get rid of him then good for them.
Should be a fun playoff. Lots of posturing ref the trading deadline so Toozday should be interesting.. |
