Well we were all, well maybe not all, hoping Kobe could pull off another 50+ points in another game for his fifth.

article from the SOURCE

Bryant's effort and a startling 63-33 rebounding advantage were the key factors as the Lakers beat the Warriors 115-113 Sunday night, extending their winning streak to a season-high five games.

Bryant entered having scored at least 50 points in four straight games to become the second player in NBA history with such a streak, joining the late Wilt Chamberlain.

Chamberlain scored 50 or more in a record seven straight games in December 1961. He also had a five-game streak and three four-game streaks during the 1961-62 season, when he averaged a record 50.4 points.

Can you imagine being at a game in the sixties watching Wilt flying around the court...jeez. That would be something. The betting odds were all over the place on this one. I put down a tenner theat he would make it. All well it was pretty close.

"We held him to 43, by God," Warriors coach Don Nelson said.

LoL why does God have to get involved

Kobe Bryant is by far the best player in the NBA. The only one who can stop Kobe is....well....Kobe. I expect many more 50+ point performances. He needs a little help though. How about Kevin Garnett? He wants out of Minnesota...and wants a ring. Why not the City of Angels?

I think Kobe is good, but I don't think he is the best player in the NBA. He is right up there with Wade, James, Anthony, Iverson, etc., but once you get up to that level, it is really hard to say who the best is. That stated, I wouldn't put Kobe at the top of the class.

Nash is probably the best all-around player in the league. He can score, pass, play defense, etc. Who the best scorer is, I can't really be sure. If Wade is healthy, he is a high pick for me.

I will say, right off the bat that I'm not a big Bryan fan. However, there is no way you cannot admire his talent. 81 points in a single game, 4 consecutive 50+ point games, it's amazing. But he is not the greatest player ever. Larry Bird

yeah he scores 50+ points every night now, but have u looked at his other stats?.............he only pulls like 2-3 rebounds, 1-2 assists, and barely any steals and blocks

most of his stats is fg%, ft% and 3's

Very good points. Also, I think the increase in his scoring is directly related to him being the single best player on the team, as opposed as to when they were winning championships with Shaq, and the team had a lot of different scorers, notably Shaq. No Shaq means more points for Kobe, which is what he wanted.

Even though many may not want to hear it, I think Shaq was the key to the Laker titles, and not so much Kobe as he would like to think.

It's all just talk at this point, since we don't know for sure, but I doubt Shaq would have won titles in Los Angeles without Kobe, either.
