During the Padres-Dodgers game today in the 2nd inning Kevin Brown hurt his throwing arm in a place where he is seven months removed from surgery.

The Dodgers, obviously, hope it isnt serious, cause honesly, without Brown, the Dodgers' season changes dramatically, and not for the better.
The injury was obstained pitching a high fastball to Tom Lampkin. When he pitched the ball, he hopped off the mound and circled the mound grabbing his arm grimacing in pain - it was obvious something was wrong. |

It will be tough without him. Doesn't sound too good.

I feel bad for the Dodgers if it is serious. He's been having injury problems it seems.

Yup, I heard Kevin Brown will miss his next start because of that elbow he had surgery on this past Winter. He re-aggravated it.
We really need him to have a shot at the playoffs.
Stuff like that really makes me wonder if we should have signed him for that long and big of a contract. I don't know if you should be giving pitchers that kind of long-term money because if he injuries his arm he can't do anything for you. If a batter injuries his arm, he could still pinch run or something. |

Looking back at the Kevin Brown signing, Ive gotta say that I am quite happy that he turned down our 5 year $60M deal for your 7 year $100somethingM deal.
He's getting on the old side, and the injuries prolly wont slow down too much. Plus, with the money we saved on him, we have been able to sign Nevin, Klesko, and others to long term deals.
The Dodgers definitely do need him though. I have to say that I am not extremely disapointed that he will miss his next start (since it is against my Padres) but Id like him healthy too since he's the only decent pitcher on my fantasy baseball team |

Heh, I know. Omar Daal. Daal's been around.
He's a rethread. I remember seeing him pitch for the Diamondbacks and the Phillies the last few years. He sucked. He must be eating Wheaties this year. |
