Juan Pablo Montoya won his first NNC Series race this year at the Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, CA: http://msn.foxsports.com/nascar/story/6957598
This is good for him and his team, but honestly, I don't think anyone is all that excited over it, because it is a road course win. He has lots of experience on road course races, and it comes as no surprise that he did well. There are many other "road course specialists" that run these races in NASCAR, and have done well in the past. To really prove himself, Montoya is going to have to win on an oval. He has stated that himself. _________________ www.chiefswarpath.com |

| I agree he'll have to win on an oval to really prove himself, but I think he fits in fine and has made a nice transition. |

He has done alright, but he hasn't done anything special yet. I think there was a lot of hype around him, but for the most part, it has been trying to create a story than it being a story itself.
Up until this race, Montoya was the only driver this season to start every race, but fail to lead a lap. _________________ www.chiefswarpath.com |

Yeah, I don't think Montoya can win an oval course and get credibility until he wins a short track like Bristol.
I don't think he'll ever be good on the short tracks, and he may begin to win or contend in the 1 1/2 mile tracks next season, but this is just learning now. _________________ NFL__Dallas Cowboys

That may be. He has a lot of driving experience, but I think it will take around 2 seasons to really get adjusted to the NASCAR style of racing. _________________ www.chiefswarpath.com |
