Williams Injured in Accident
Jay Williams was hurt in a motorcycle accident on Chicago’s North Side on early Thursday evening. The Bulls are not releasing details regarding his status at this time but will as they become available.
"The last thing on our minds right now is basketball," John Paxson stated on Friday, "and the foremost thought on our minds is that of Jay’s health."

There might be no trade for the Nuggets. Might not play next season.

I've heard he has several broken bones and will have to have surgery on his pelvic bone. They are saying he won't play basketball for at least a year, maybe longer.I've seen the pictures of the bike and am suprised Williams is still alive cause his bike is totaled.

I believe that all sports franchises should put it in players contracts. No motorcycles, no sky diving, no bungee jumping, no rock climbing, et all.

And that likely would result in no players. I wouldn't sign a contact to play a sport with such stipulations.

Well what I would do is I would put those clauses in and if one of those athletes gets hurt doing that, his contract wouldn't be voided but would turn into a minimum salary contract over the life of that contract.

I agree with paully600. I think that the players should be able to do want they want at their own risk. The only problem with giving the player the choice is that the team can't prevent a player from doing threatening actions to their career, like sky diving, motorcycling, etc. There are advantages and disadvantages to these kind of rules.

That would limit what they could do. It would lead to management controlling players lives. That will not work.

Yeah but they could do all that other stuff when they retire.

I've also now heard that along with messing up his pelvic bone,he broke his leg,and tore his ACL,so i'm figuring he will be out for at least 2 years.
